IP CCTV Systems

Analogue systems captures an image, then transmits it via a cable to to the recorder where it is digitized and stored on a hard drive. The IP system differs from analogue in that the image recorded by the camera is encoded and transmitted over an internet protocol (IP). as a digital steam, hence the term IP. With this system no conversion occurs. unlike with the analogue system. The IP system, uses a Network Video Recorder (NVR) this ensures that all the cameras connected to the system are functioning.

Traditionally the quality of the image is superior on an IP system. This is no longer the case because there is now Ultra High Definition 4k analogue cameras and recorders.

The NVR offers greater flexibility over the DVR, each camera is an independent unit and can be viewed, controlled and recording can be individually stored. The IP system offers greater security than the analogue because it encrypts all the files before storage, making it difficult to access the recorded data without the login details.
